Construction of the community has begun and will continue through winter 2022. We are targeting late spring/early summer 2023 for the opening of our first showhomes.
The Concept Plan proposes density in the form of single family units with a variety of widths, semi-detached units and town house units. Opportunity exists for high end lots around water features and open spaces.
Country residential character is maintained through the larger single family wide lot which will take up the majority of the residential area. The layout accommodates flexibility and a true mix of housing styles, promoting diversity, choice and more efficient infrastructure.
A 1.58 acre local commercial site is located central to the plan area at the southeast corner of the Emerald Park Road and Betteridge Road intersection. The site may include ‘convenience retail’ such as grocery, drugstores, fast-food/family restaurants, personal and financial services.
This site along with the commercial component of the mixed use area should be designed to accommodate community type development including services and boutique shops that meets the day-to-day shopping, dining, and service needs of the community.
White City has provided notice to the RM of Edenwold indicating Council is pursuing a boundary alteration to annex Emerald Park, including its neighbouring residential and commercial subdivisions into one urban municipality.
The proposal is a response to the recent growth study undertaken by the Town. The study indicated that the area population will grow to more than 22,000 residents in 25 years. While Royal Park will support the forecasted growth, the annexation is a separate measure by the Town intended to support projected area population.
